Where does the proceeds go?
Proceeds of SIT FOR CHANGE will benefit the Transformative Change Fund. The fund was created to develop national low and no-cost inner awareness programs, including meditation and yoga, to encourage and empower individuals doing work to change the world to lead more balanced, compassionate, sustainable lives. The Fund is housed with Center for Transformative Change, a 501c3, nonprofit educational organization. All contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
Why 108?
We chose 108 as a point that bridges many peoples. 108 are considered to be a powerful number for many reasons & from many viewpoints: spiritual, astrological, mathematical, geographical and scientific. The numbers 12 & 9 are also deeply significant in spiritual traditions and when multiplied equals 108. Most poignantly, 108 is a Harshad number, which is an integer divisible by the sum of its digits (Harshad is from Sanskrit, and means “great joy”) REAL Change will bring Great Joy.
Just $108?
That’s only a minimum pledge that allows just about anyone to join in. Our overall minimum goal for Saturday is $108,000, so we’ll want each participant to raise as much as they can towards that goal.

How can I get involved?
1. Register right now and send an already written pledge request to your networks: Facebook, MySpace, etc.
2. then, get out your email address books and send pledge requests to EVERYONE you know to give them the opportunity to “Take a Stand” behind you as you SIT for Change. By using the power of the internet to reach out widely, we can reach our goal easily.
